Cool stuff we use to improve learning!
At WHPS we love Ed. Tech and how it can support learning!
We use technology in school to enhance teaching and learning, and to make lessons even more engaging for our pupils. We embrace educational technology and continue to invest in high-quality, cutting-edge resources that support learning and help children succeed.
Across the school, pupils use a range of age-appropriate tools to support reading, writing and maths, as well as the wider curriculum. Technology also helps us to provide extra challenge, offer support where needed and prepare children for life in a modern world.
Our approach is simple: technology should improve learning, not replace great teaching.
iPads

We have 120 iPads in school, helping pupils to access a wide range of learning activities across the curriculum.
Now Press Play

We use now>press>play to bring learning to life through immersive audio adventures. Children wear wireless headphones and are guided through exciting, curriculum-linked experiences using sound, storytelling and movement. This helps pupils deepen understanding, build vocabulary and talk confidently about their learning.
Learning by Questions (LbQ)
We use Learning by Questions (LbQ) to support learning in maths and other key areas. Pupils answer curriculum-linked questions on a device and receive instant feedback. Teachers can also see responses in real time, helping them quickly identify misconceptions, provide support and offer extra challenge where needed.
Amazon Alexa

We use Amazon Alexa devices in classrooms to support learning in fun and practical ways. Children use them to find out information such as the weather, practise asking clear questions and develop confident, clear speech. This also helps pupils build listening skills and learn how to use technology responsibly.
Accelerated Reader and STAR reading assessments

We use Accelerated Reader to support and motivate children to read regularly and confidently. Pupils choose a book at the right level for them, read independently, and then complete a short quiz to check understanding.
This helps us to monitor progress, celebrate success and ensure pupils are developing strong reading comprehension.
We also use STAR Reading assessments to help us track progress and identify each child’s current reading level. This ensures children are supported and challenged appropriately, and helps us monitor improvement in reading comprehension over time.
